ABOUT JACLYN STUART
Jaclyn Stuart, a distinguished graduate of Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen with a BA Hons in Fine Art (2000), has been passionately creating evocative artwork for over two decades. Her work delves into the profound intricacies of the human experience, often weaving in themes of the Divine.
"I revel in the unexpected," Jaclyn explains. "I draw inspiration from life, nature, and found objects, transforming them by placing them in unconventional contexts. This process allows me to craft vivid metaphors, exploring the delicate beauty and fragility of life, the journey from brokenness to repair, and the cycles of loss and restoration."
Jaclyn's art invites viewers into a world where ordinary images are reimagined, challenging perceptions and evoking deep emotional responses. Her unique approach not only highlights the intricate tapestry of human existence but also celebrates the resilience and beauty found in transformation and renewal.
Jaclyn Stuart's passion for teaching art has taken her on an inspiring journey. After running a successful art teaching business in Aberdeen, she moved to Fife and became a lecturer in art and design at Elmwood College and Adam Smith College. When Elmwood College closed its art department, Jaclyn seized the opportunity to establish her own venture, leveraging her extensive knowledge and skills.
"I aim to teach the fundamentals of art to all ages," Jaclyn shares. "I've noticed gaps in people's learning, particularly in essential elements such as perspective, measuring, observation, tonal work, and color theory. These are the cornerstones of my classes."
Thus, Eden Art was born—a haven where people of all ages can learn the craftsmanship of art and cultivate their unique expression. In St Andrews, Jaclyn offers classes for both adults and children, focusing on foundational techniques while encouraging students to find and confidently express their artistic voices.
Jaclyn, with over 20 years of teaching experience in Scotland and abroad, is the sole tutor, offering a diverse range of fine art classes. Her dedication to nurturing creativity and artistic skills continues to inspire and empower her students.
